The 20 year old Louisiana rapper, has steadily and surely worked on his craft and is on the verge of having a major breakthrough in 2019. In the summer of 2018 he received much love and made his way into the national spotlight with the release of ‘Mixtape 23.’ This past December Jay dropped an album called ‘Forever 23,’ and it is more than worthy of your time.. Check it out, he may be your favorite rapper in 2019.
2. Roddy Ricch
The Compton, California native is hot right now. On November 1st he gave us ‘Feed Tha Streets 2’, which featured songs such as ‘Every Season’ and ‘Die young.’ All around the tape was a good project, and the major attention he has gotten since the release is proof. 2019 is going to be a big year for him.
2018 was an impressive year for De’Shon. It has been just under a year since he gave us ‘Hardaway,’ and 6 months since he gave us an amazing visual with ‘Fed Up.’ He finished 2018 with his project ‘Pain 2,’ which featured some of the hottest artists of the year. The project included names like Lil Baby, Moneybagg Yo, and Lil Durk, as well as artists like Mozzy, YFN Lucci, and Trouble, who were also featured. Look out for De’Shon in 2019.
4. Lil AK
Also known as DJ Akademiks, Lil AK, actually introduced himself in the rap game in April 2018. On Christmas day He released an EP, ‘Clout Chaser’, with song ‘Chug Jug’. The project probably will not blow you away, but Akademiks does put together a nice flow and it is something nice to bob your head to.
The man behind the hit song ‘That's On Me’ literally came out of nowhere. The song ‘That's On Me’ was released in 2017, and in 2018 it became popular. He released a mixtape in November that featured Kevin Gates, Lil Baby and Yg. Yella Beezy only got his feet wet last year, but you will definitely hear his name more in 2019.
The 20 year old college student boasted his singing abilities in a twitter video in September. He then dropped his debut song ‘Ashamed,’ and received a lot of attention for it. He followed the debut with his EP, ‘Purple Hearted’ which included the song ‘Wake Up’. Check out his latest release ‘NEBY’ on Soundcloud. I'm looking forward to more music from T.Ross in 2019.
